About Glider Pro

Glider pro is a classical freeware game that has been around for years. It was created by John Calhoun and released by Cassady and Greens in 1994 (who went banktrupt in 2003 with the rights reverting to the author).

In the game you fly a paper plane through a labyrinth of "rooms" attempting to collect all the stars, to complete a house (i.e. level). You fly through a range of different environments, both indoors and outdoors, such as sky, meadows, underground basements, panel rooms whilst using aircurrents from various objects to stay aloft. Along the way you will need to manouvre around various obstacles such as paper planes, automated shredders, balloons mechanical toasters, cupboards and more. There are a number of bonuses that you can collect in the game such as: foil (for armour), rubber bands (for shooting down enemies), clocks (for points), paper (for lives) and helium (for levitation). Various transports, switches to activate objects, fans and enemy triggers add a further element of challenge to the game.

The main aspect that has kept the game alive is the advanced house editor. The house editor gives you complete control where the objects are placed, how switches/triggers are linked to objects, and even (when used with res. edit) importing your own custom backgrounds, and pictures. So you can create any scenario you can imagine: space ships, islands, castles (you get the idea).

As the game is quite old, it is limited to indexed color (256 colors), but if you want a game with good replay value, this is definitely worth a look.
